My good friend Jeffy T. Jeff was hit by a car in his college campus on March 1 2009, the car was traveling at apox. 45 mph and the survival rate for that type of accident is very low. Jeff suffered a traumatic brain injury and numerous other injuries as a result of his accident. Jeff was in a coma for more than 2 weeks and struggled to stay alive. As a senior in High School, having a good friend in that condition was hard, but is nothing compared to the pain his family was feeling and the amount of struggle Jeff faced. Jeff woke up from his coma, and began the long long road to recovery which included weeks at an inpatient rehab hospital and months of Physical Therapy. Jeff has made an almost complete recovery but will live with some lasting effects from his accident forever. Today he is a student at UMBC where he transferred and is a computer science major. Jeff is what is called a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor, TBIS and is a person who inspires me everyday. I love him and admire him so much.
